I'm a co-founder and Z Board member of “A Zine About Students as Partners,” a participatory project extending beyond the classroom to showcase the collaborative work of students, faculty, and staff at the University of Michigan-Dearborn through the biannual publication of a zine. The zine is a collaborative endeavor, run by and featuring the content of students, faculty, and staff in academic and other creative mediums. The zine promotes the “students as partners” philosophy among our campus community, highlights the impressive collaborations and partnerships that already exist on our campus, and encourages students, faculty, and staff to experiment with new and innovative models in teaching, learning, and the production of knowledge.

Established in 2012, the Virtual Exchange Initiative (VEI) at the University of Michigan provides mentorship, information, financial resources, practical instructional design, and technical support for the development and implementation of virtual exchanges that connect UM students and international partners for meaningful academic exchanges within their regular coursework.
I was fortunate to receive a VEI grant in Fall 2021 and engaged in a Virtual Exchange Initiative project featuring the collaborative media analyses of students at the University of Michigan-Dearborn and FLACSO-Mexico. |
